Will of Matilda Caroline Maberly
This
is the last Will and Testament of
me Matilda Caroline Maberly of the Aboretum,
Leamington Priors in the county of Warwick Spinster I give and
bequeath all my fifth share or other the part or share to which I
am entitled in the sum £3444-10-2 (a moiety of £6889-0-4) £3
per centum Consolidated Bank Annuities under the will of the late
Miss Louisa Maude deceased and all other the real & personal
property belonging to me at my decease or over which I may then
have any disposing powers I give devise and bequeath the
same to my dear Father George Frederick Maberly for
his own absolute use and benefit And I appoint him sole
Exor of this my will hereby revoking all former wills
charged with the payment of the legacies given by this my will
and subject thereto for his own absolute use and benefit the
legacies following namely
I give and bequeath to my friend
the Reverend John Thomas M Ware the sum of £5 sterling to my
friend dear stepmother in law Eliza
Louisa Maberly the sum of £100 for her own sole and separate use
and benefit free from marital control whose receipt
notwithstanding coverture shall be a sufficient discharge for the
same to my dear brother Harry £10-10/- for the purchase of a
microscope as a remembrance of me to my dear sister Ada £10-10/-
for a watch whose receipt though a minor shall be a
discharge to my executor to my dear sister Maude my
watch & chain to my friend John Thomas M.Ware the sum of £5
as a token of my regard to the Revd Geo. Müller of Kingsdown
Bristol the sum of £5 to be applied at his discretion
for the benefit of the Orphans under his care but his receipt
alone to be a sufficient discharge to my exor to each member of
my Bible Class a Bible as a remembrance of me and I direct that
each gift to a minor contained in my will to any
minor shall be paid or transferred to him or her nothstg
minority whose receipt notwithstanding the minority
shall be a sufficient discharge to my exor And lastly I appoint
my said Father G.F.Maberly sole Exor of this my will hereby
revoking all former wills In witness whereof I have hereunder set
my hand this twenty second day of August 1871 Signed by the said
Matilda Caroline Maberly the testatrix as and for her last will
and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who
in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other
have hereto subscribed our names as witnesses
